YOUnite Community® is a reference implementation used to demonstrate our ability to be deployed in a Web Portal for both consumer and enterprise environments. YOUnite Community® can also be deployed as a portlet inside an existing portal.
In addition, YOUnite Community® can also be used to connect to remote databases not stored on a local client. To accomplish this, the YOUnite Community® reference implementation includes a sample Proxy Client. The Proxy Client is a server (or set of servers) that sits inside of a YOUnite® enabled data center, but outside of a YOUnite® Interchange. It has the capability to deliver update requests to remote databases such as the Yahoo! Addressbook or Google’s GMail Addressbook.
